Agents of the Dominican Republic’s National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) have stopped a large cargo of cocaine from leaving the Spanish-speaking island.
DNCD reported the drugs, which weighed 1,419.16 kilograms, were confiscated at the Caucedo Multimodal Port in Boca Chica.
The drug packages, which were hidden inside a container loaded with dozens of bags of organic cocoa, were destined for a port in Belgium.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office and the DNCD are expanding their investigations to find the people who shipped the drugs.
